Sunday School Activities 2012-13

Essay Competition
The 6th National Essay Competition was held on Sunday, November 18, 2012 and students across the 18 churches in North America participated. The 7-12th grade students were given two essay questions in advance that differed based on what grade they were in and the final essay question was given to students on the day of the Competition. Students wrote 3 paragraph essays in a time length of 45 minutes on topics related to our faith. There are First, Second, and Third places with cash prizes. The 2012 winners are still to be announced.

Operation Christmas Child
Annually, the Sunday School children participate in Operation Christmas Child, which is a program organized by the Christian charity organization Samaritan's Purse. The program consists of filling up a shoe box with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for a boy or girl, ages 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14. Then, with a $7 donation, the shoe box is delivered out of country to a child living in difficult circumstances to bring that child joy and happiness during this holiday season. The Sunday School students worked hard to create and collect many boxes this year and collected a total of 74 Christmas boxes by Sunday, November 18th!
